Ubuntu Name Server

Under /etc, there is a file named “resolv.conf”

The Primary nameserver should be configured as well as another host to double check things. Simply edit /etc/resolv.conf and add the following:

nameserver 192.168.1.10
nameserver 192.168.1.11

And if you put the line:

dns-nameservers 64.59.144.18 64.59.144.19

After you do:

networking restart

or:

sudo ifdown eth0 && sudo ifup eth0 (especially when you stop network remotely, use this)

the name server will goto /etc/resolv.conf it self.it will looks like the folowing:

nameserver 192.168.1.10
nameserver 192.168.1.11
